Martin Josten

Marty is an independent financial professional with extensive experience in strategic planning,
solving complex issues for business owners and professional associations since 1990.
He is recognized for his keen ability to manage costs with the focus on quality. He thrives
on creating unique solutions for business planning and employee benefits needs.

Shortly after graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he went to
work for his father, Nick Josten, a highly successful insurance agent running his own firm.

My Dad is a huge influence on my life. He mentored me. Paid me a small
salary. I sat in his office and listened and learned as he worked with clients.
I helped him prepare for meetings and follow thru in implementing strategies.

Nick, with his sons Marty and John, built Josten Financial into a comprehensive insurance,
investments and employee benefits firm. When Nick retired in 2000, Josten Financial, with
its network of personal and business clients, had been successfully transitioned to both
sons, who still run the firm today.

Marty has multiple client relationships spanning over 40 years. He speaks generationally,
helping businesses and personal clients transition successfully, just as his firm did. These
businesses have grown together like family.

Marty is a lifelong baseball fanatic, both on the field and off. He played Big Ten baseball at
the U of I and continued passing on his passion for the game by coaching youth baseball
and softball. He served on the Board of Directors of Palatine Youth Baseball / Softball for
over 15 years, and still contributes at the committee level today. He is an avid outdoorsman.                                                                                              Marty resides with his wife, Ellen, and their three kids in Palatine, Illinois.
